INDUSTRY LEADERSHIP THROUGH COLLABORATION

Supermicro, in collaboration with Samsung, has developed an extremely dense, very high capacity all-flash storage server platform that will revolutionise the industry with its price-performance ratio and design efficiency. sysGen is proud to deliver this opportunity of future technology to our customers.

With just one rack unit, it can hold up to 576TB of storage. The Samsung NF1 form factor is specifically designed to maximise performance and capacity for data intensive/low latency workloads. As a leader in flash technology, Samsung created the NF1 form factor, which has disrupted the storage industry with its reduced space and power consumption.

NEXT GENERATION STORAGE AVAILABLE TODAY

The NF1 storage server starts with a no-compromise motherboard with two Intel™ Xeon™Scalable processors with up to 205 W, offering up to 56 cores, and 24 DIMMs for 3 TB of system memory. It features a switched PCI-E architecture that supports 32 NF1 devices and four additional hybrid device slots that can be NVMe or SATA with M.2 connectors. It also offers the best cost per GB among all-flash systems. While there are many all-flash systems available, Supermicro's NF1 server differentiates itself in both media density and overall end-to-end architecture, making it perfect for high-capacity network edge applications.

For example, next-generation 5G mobile service providers need more storage capacity close to their customers to provide the best user experience. All these features make dedicated all-flash scale-out storage the topology of choice.

BALANCED SYSTEM DESIGN

The balanced system architecture divides resources evenly between CPU, network and storage. This allows users to specify and provision IO resources for the lowest latency path from external clients to the NF1 storage devices.

On the front with 2 PCI-E 3.0 x16 slots, the most powerful network interface cards can be used to boost NVMe performance. This system is also available with support for 100GbE as well as Infiniband and Omni-Path for businesses that require the absolute highest performance.

E/A OPTIMISED ARCHITECTURE FOR LOWEST LATENCY

System latency is measured in many ways; for a single node it can be the performance between the storage device and the CPU. In the case of a storage server providing services to clients over a network, the PCI-E bandwidth for the NICs must be considered. The NF1 server has a topology that provides high bandwidth and
lowest latency for all applications.

With flash memory expected to more than double in the next 18 months, we are preparing our customers for this with servers like the SSG-1029P-NMR36LNF1. The first system to offer the compact, density-optimised next-generation flash form factor with the most outstanding combination of performance, optimal energy efficiency and storage density.

This offers users the best TCO and a competitive advantage
compared to other flash form factors available today.
